Welcome to The Traveling Woodworker! We are a husband and wife team who love to DIY just about anything. When the home decor we were making for ourselves started to be requested by friends and family, we decided to take the plunge and start a little side business of our own. The Traveling Woodworker has evolved a bit over the past two + years, but one thing hasn't--we still love creating personalized wood gifts for you!

I (Samantha) love creating and designing. Custom orders are my absolute favorite because I love getting to take a conceptualized design and make it come to life with string and nail. Believing for most of my life that the artistic gene was completely missing from my makeup, I get a little thrill every time I finish another piece. Now that both are daughters are in school, getting to devote my time to running this shop has been a dream.

My husband Michael is a member of the United States Air Force, and does all of the heavy lifting around here. Anything involving a power tool is his domain so he cuts and engraves all the signs in our shop. His desire to take a deeper dive into woodworking was the biggest catalyst for starting The Traveling Woodworker. We are so excited to be able to serve our military family with our personalized military signs & are honored at the dozens of retirement and PCS parties we have been a part of in our small way.
